Born in September 1991, Marcos spent his early childhood with his parents and brothers in the United States, until his return in 1998 to Barcelona, where he began his studies at the Montserrat school, belonging to the congregation of the missionary daughters of the Sacred Family.
In his first adolescence, he lost a certain interest in attending Sunday mass, but this was a passing rebellion. Being a student of the Abat Oliba Loreto school, belonging to the Catholic Association of Propagandists, his life of faith began to root more and more.
He soon began to go to weekly catechesis with a group of communion and liberation and his personal transformation did not go unnoticed among his family.
During a trip in 2011 to Calcutta (India) to collaborate with the missioners of charity, along with some friends and his uncle priest, Fr. Yago Gallo, Marcos came to confess: “My knowledge of Christ has to be as concrete as that of John and Andrés.”
Little by little, his faith was growing in depth and they could all capture him around him. A priest friend invited him to develop a certain call to “paternity” regarding his friends and family, a task to which he gave himself in body and soul.
In a testimony offered shortly before admission to the seminar, he explained: “This experience for me today makes me more satisfactory than the conquest of women.”
Thus, on the day of the Virgin of Lourdes, February 11, 2015, entered the Metropolitan Seminary of Barcelona.
Days later he had an encounter with friends. One of them asked him about how he was living the experience and his response was very clear about the conviction that God asked everything.
A little minutes later, he died in a motorcycle accident. At its funeral, held in the chapel of the martyrs of the seminar more than 2,000 people attended. In the homilyhis uncle the priest stressed: “It was absolutely impossible to be with frames more than half an hour without talking about Jesus Christ.”
