Toyota updated the design of the SW4the seven-seat SUV based on the Hilux pickup that is also manufactured at the Zárate plant.
Available in a single version (SRX), the renewed SW4 now sports a silhouette that is characterized by having straighter and more marked linesfeatures that are especially appreciated in the front, with new bumpers, grille and moldings in glossy black that follow the lines of the optics.
Among other details, the model debuts a new design of diamond wheels. 18 inches”with black details, maintaining its 265/60R18 HT tires.
Likewise, the side now has black running boards (instead of the silver ones), while at the back the new bumper adopts a lower molding that matches the tailgate trim, both in black.
Mechanically there are no changes. Continues with the turbodiesel engine 2.8 liters of 204 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque, associated with a 6-speed automatic transmission and 4×4 traction.
As for equipment, it continues to offer the 9” touch screen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity combined with the JBL audio system with 10 speakers and subwoofer; upholstered in natural and ecological leather with ventilation function in the front seats; dual-zone automatic climate control; 360° vision system; blind spot and rear traffic alert, among others.
For its part, in terms of safety, it offers the driving assistance package. Toyota Safety Senseconsisting of the forward pre-collision system, lane departure warning and adaptive cruise control.
Also has Siete airbags (front and front sides, curtain, and driver’s knee), stability and traction control, hill descent and start assist, trailer sway control, ABS brakes with electronic brake-force distribution and brake assist emergency braking, and Isofix hooks for child seats with top strap anchorage.
Available in five body colors (Mica Black, Metallic Silver, Metallic Dark Gray, Pearl White and Metallic Brown), the renewed SW4 SRX joins the versions Diamond (top of the range) and GR-Sport; the latter equipped with the 2.8 engine with 224 horsepower and 550 Nm of torque and sports suspension.
