According to the organization of the NCyC, the Pope is expected to address about 15,000 young people between 14 and 18 years from different Catholic youth movements in the United States and dialogue with them for 45 minutes live, from at 10:15 am east time on November 21.

Some young people will be selected to talk directly with Pope León during the match. The NFCyM said that, in the coming weeks, it will announce details about the selection process.

The event will take place on the second day of the NCyC, which is held from November 20 to 22, and also brings together leaders of youth pastoral, priests and Catholic volunteers from all over the country for three days of prayer, training, community and celebration.

Upon knowing the news, Archbishop Charles Thompson of Indianapolis said that “it is a joy to receive again at Lucas Oil Stadium to the youth of the United States, just one year after welcoming 60,000 Catholics in the National Eucharistic Congress. The revival in the United States is not a desire, it is a reality. digital ”.

“From the beginning, Ewtn has been the place that brings together the faithful, through distances and schedules, in the great moments of the Church’s life,” said Michael P. Warsaw, president of the Council and CEO of Ewtn.

“As we expand and adapt our platforms, serving the new generations has become essential in our mission. This encounter will not only inspire young people, but also invite them to enter the heart of the Church,” he added.

For her part, Montse Alvarado, president and director of Operations of Ewtn News, commented: “In Ewtn News we commit ourselves to cover and support relevant events of the Universal Church. We are excited to collaborate with the NCyC, the NFCYM and it is an honor to work with the Holy Father at this time unprecedented for the Catholic youth of the United States with the first US Pope.”

The announcement, made in the solemnity of the assumption of the Virgin Mary, also coincides with the 44th anniversary of the first Ewtn transmission.

“This providential choice reflects Ewtn’s historical mission: bringing the message of the Church to all homes and accompanying young people to find Jesus Christ and grow in faith,” Alvarado added.

The meeting will include an initial greeting of Pope Leo XIV, interventions of young representatives, an interactive session of live questions and answers, and final words, including a blessing.

Ewtn’s coverage will also transmit other acts of the NCyC from November 20 to 22, providing global access to moments of prayer, catechesis, training and celebration in Indianapolis.

The Archbishop of Philadelphia, Nelson Pérez, episcopal advisor of the NFCyM, stressed that “the decision of the Holy Father to meet the young Americans expresses their closeness, following the example of their predecessor, Pope Francis, who called them ‘now of God.”

Along the same lines, Warsaw stressed that “this encounter with Pope Leo XIV will be a milestone for American youth. I am excited that we can put our services within the reach of Congress and the 2025 meeting, providing the way for the NCyC, the NFCyM and the Holy Father to have a global expression vehicle. We hope to share it with the world.”
