The complaint for alleged sexual abuse against the Vélez Sarsfield footballers Sebastian Sosa, Abiel Osorio, Brian Cufre y Jose Florentin by a 24-year-old girl will enter a new phase this Monday.

On Wednesday, March 6, a Tucumán journalist reported four Vélez players for sexual abuse in the Prosecutor’s Unit for Crimes Against Sexual Integrity I of the province of Tucumán.

The aforementioned events would have been committed on the night of March 3 after the match with Atlético Tucumán in room 407 of the Hilton Hotel in the capital of this northern province. In the report of the complaint, it appears that she had been invited by Sosa, with whom she exchanged contact information on the field after the game, to meet with him. Upon arriving at the room, she met the other three players: Cufré, Osorio and Florentín.

The young woman, whose identity is preserved, claims to have fallen unconscious after drinking two cans of beer and fernet from a Stanley thermos, so there is the assumption that the drink could also have contained a soporific substance. He lay down because he felt bad and at this point is when the sexual abuse would have taken place. When the journalist was able to react, she picked up some objects from the room, such as a T-shirt, ordered an Uber and went to her house. Days later, she made the complaint accompanied by her lawyer, Patricia Neme.

“From the moment she starts drinking fernet she feels sick, dizzy. When she began to feel bad, they took advantage of this situation and did that atrocious, disastrous, cowardly act between four people and sexually abused her,” said the lawyer.

“She tried to defend herself from the aggression, she tried to get them out. She has injuries on her body from force, from trying to defend herself. When this whole horrible event is over, she realizes it, calls an Uber and goes home. Here there was no consent, no freedom of choice, no will on her part. “I didn’t know at all that this situation was going to happen, nor that these rapists were going to abuse her,” Neme concluded.

The complaint seeks a sentence that includes up to 20 years due to the type of crime committed and its aggravating circumstances.

The clothes that the complainant wore that day are among the evidence submitted for expert opinion. In addition to the hotel cameras and objects in the room, the chats that the journalist had with Sosa before and after the crime are one of the pieces of evidence that most complicates the Vélez players. They contain the invitation to the hotel that the Uruguayan goalkeeper gave him.

In the conversation they had after that night, she expresses concerns about her health and complaints about the alleged gang rape that are not denied by the player, although they would change her role in participating in the crime. Within the investigation, what we are trying to determine is the intervention and responsibility of each of those involved.

Hours after the complaint became public knowledge, Club Atlético Vélez Sarsfield separated the four players following the protocol stipulated for these cases, until the situation is clarified.
