Within the framework of the upcoming elections in Mexico, civil society organizations in Mexico presented to various local congresses throughout the country the “Pact for the Right to the Future”, an initiative that seeks to engage all those who aspire to a position of popular election, to guarantee “respect for human dignity.”
On June 2, Mexican citizens will elect the next president, the new members of the Congress of the Union, and new state and municipal governors. The electoral campaign will take place from March 1 to May 29.
According to a statement shared with ACI Prensa, in this context the “Pact for the Right to the Future” was born, to address the challenges of ensuring “respect for the dignity of the person” and “generating a legislative agenda in favor of women, life, young people and the sustainability of the country.”
