This March 31, Easter Sunday, Pope Francis presided over the Holy Mass in a St. Peter’s Square packed with faithful and pilgrims from all over the world.
At 10:00 am (Rome time), the Eucharist began, presided over by the Holy Father from the atrium of the square, covered with the traditional and colorful Dutch flowers that arrive at the Vatican every Easter.
The ceremony began with the traditional rite of “He rose again”, in which two deacons opened an ancient icon representing Christ and the Holy Father prayed before it and later incensed it.
