The Diocese of Aguascalientes (Mexico) demarcated from an event called “time to evangelize”, which announces alleged “miraculous cures” and “expulsion of demons”, ensuring that “it is not Catholic, and this title is used to confuse and deceive people.”
As reported by the diocese through a Statement released on May 18the meeting, which is scheduled for May 31 and June 1, is promoted by an “supposed priest” called Bernardo Moncada.

In this regard, the bishopric said that the event “is held on the sidelines, and against the Catholic Church. Therefore, this diocesan authority is completely demarcated by the responsibility and support for the celebration of this so -called meeting.”
According to the statement, “the alleged priest who performs it, is originally from Colombia, and today faces a canonical criminal process, in his diocese of origin (León, Nicaragua), for serious crimes committed in that place, as they are: abuse of consciousness, abuse against minors, simony and persistent attitude of rebellion to his own bishop and any legitimate authority.”
“Miraculous cures” or “Demons of demons”
According to the statement, in the event “days of prayer and preaching are lived, in which some people receive ‘miraculous cures’ or ‘expulsion of demons’, thereby creating a kind of suggestion among those present”.
“Such cured or released, they are actors part of the event of the event, because these people have been seen that in several of the meetings and in different places they are the same that are cured of these supposed evils,” he said.
In addition, the diocese pointed out that in these acts “it is attentive with the celebration of the Holy Mass, because without having any license and authorization for it, it is celebrated or simulates to celebrate, to generate even more a climate that this event is good and Catholic, but in reality it is a deception and fraud.”
He also said that the event “encourages a deformed Marian piety and contrary to the Catholic doctrine, since it appears to the Blessed Virgin as a announcer and carrier of misfortunes, being the only one who can placate the divine punishment.”
Given this situation, the diocese reiterated that its intention is to make “a warning for the entire Diocesan family and citizens of Aguascalientes about this alleged priest and about the simulation and deception of what it does. Pretending only to urinate the faithful Catholics who are alert and do not let themselves be confused or deceive”.
