The Day of the Unborn Child is celebrated around the world every March 25, with the intention of commemorating, promoting and defending human life from its conception in the mother’s womb.
This day was established in Argentina, in December 1998, by President Carlos Saúl Menem, who encouraged presidents from all over Latin America to join the initiative. Furthermore, Saint John Paul II sent a letter to President Menemin which he asked that the date serve to promote a culture in favor of life.
“The celebration of the ‘Day of the Unborn Child’ favors a positive option in favor of life and the development of a culture oriented in this sense, which ensures the promotion of human dignity in all situations,” the Polish Pope wrote then. .
