Juliana Fonseca, project coordinator in Nariño, explains that part of the aid focuses on “making their needs visible” and placing them “on the local public agenda,” so that “they can be managed through projects and programs.”
When referring to this project, Cardinal Rueda described it as a “first contribution of the Colombian Church” that can “radiate to the entire country and all of Latin America.”
On the other hand, Mons. Juan Carlos Cárdenas, Bishop of Pasto, based in the capital of the department of Nariño, stressed the need for pastoral care to continue the path begun, taking “more bold steps in their favor, as the Pope Francisco”.
