In the framework of the celebrations for the Jubilee of the 500 years of the founding of the first diocese and the construction of the first Cathedral in the country, the Cuban bishops and their parishioners they made a pilgrimage todayFebruary 21, from the Casa de Encuentros, very close to the Sanctuary of El Cobre, to the Cathedral of Santiago de Cuba.
After the pilgrimage, a solemn Mass was celebrated in the Cathedral.
In mid-December 2023, Bishop Dionisio García Ibañez, Archbishop of Santiago de Cuba, called on the faithful to draw closer to Jesus, to receive “strength, encouragement, hope and confidence” and to overcome the difficulties of life.
