On the night of October 12, on the 108th anniversary of the last apparition of Our Lady of Fátima and the Miracle of the Sun, a crowd gathered at her sanctuary in Cova da Iria (Portugal) to participate in the prayer of the Holy Rosary and the candle procession.
The Rosary and the procession were presided over by Mons. Claudio Dalla Zuanna, Archbishop of Beira (Mozambique).

“Lord, who are the Creator of Light, and in Jesus Christ you gave us the grace to overcome the darkness of sin, deign to bless these candles that we light in your honor. And through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, who appeared here clothed in your light, grant us to perceive in faith, until one day we can meet you with all the saints in the kingdom of heaven,” was the prayer of the prelate at the beginning of the ceremony.
The Virgin Mary appeared to the shepherd children Lucía dos Santos, Jacinta and Francisco Marto on six occasions between May 13 and October 13, 1917, in the place where her sanctuary stands today, with prophetic messages, encouraging conversion and encouraging the entire world to pray the Holy Rosary.
Precisely after its last appearance, on October 13, in front of thousands of pilgrims who had arrived at the place, what is known as the “miracle of the sun” occurred, when for about three minutes the sun moved doing a kind of “dance” or “zigzag”, emitting rays of different colors.
