In response to the need to provide a home for the youth of Costa Rica, the Asociación Obras del Espíritu Santo, a movement of the Catholic Church, announced the construction of the “Torres Espíritu Santo” Youth Hostels of Joy.
According to a statement shared with ACI Prensa, this initiative arises from recognizing that once young people who reside in children’s shelters, upon turning 18, “do not have a place or institution where their needs can continue to be attended to.”
This situation, the statement notes, “leads in most cases to the destruction of their life dreams.”
