Congress for Life in Costa Rica commemorates 30 years of the Evangelium Vitae of Saint John Paul II

The Congress for Life, organized in Costa Rica, seeks to commemorate the 30 years of the encyclical Life (The Gospel of Life) by Saint John Paul II, a document with “a profound relevance in the face of the ethical, cultural and social challenges of our time.”

The event will take place on Saturday, October 18 in the auditorium of the Autonomous University of Central America (UACA) of San José, Costa Rica, organized by the Tomás Moro Institute, the UACA, the Juan Pablo II University and Vida Humana Internacional.

The Women’s Institute of Integral Health and the international fasting and prayer campaign 40 Days for Life support the event.

In a statement, the organizers highlighted that Lifepromulgated on March 25, 1995, is “one of the most luminous documents of the pontificate of Saint John Paul II,” in which the Pope “reaffirms the sacred and inalienable dignity of all human life, from conception to natural death, and clearly denounces the attacks against it, such as abortion and euthanasia, which he calls ‘structures of sin.’”

“Thirty years after its publication, its message retains a profound relevance in the face of the ethical, cultural and social challenges of our time,” they added.

This congress, they highlighted, “seeks to be a space for meeting, reflection and commitment, where believers and defenders of human dignity can renew their hope and their action in favor of all life.”
