On Friday, July 4, the closing of the Diocesan phase of the Beatification Cause of Mother Rosetta Marchese, seventh successor of Santa María Domenica Mazzarello at the head of the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, also known as Salesians, also will take place at the Lateran Palacio de Roma.

Who is Mother Rosetta Marchese?

He was born in Aosta (Italy) on October 20, 1922. As a child he met and frequented the daughters of Mary Help of Christians, thus maturing his faith and his ideal of total consecration to God.

After his first religious profession, in 1941, he completed his studies at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, licensed in letters.

From 1947 to 1958 she was a professor and vicaria at the missionary house Mother Mazzarello from Turin, where he paid special attention to the young religious who prepared to leave for the missions. From 1958 to 1974 he performed government tasks in Sicily, Rome and Lombardy.

In 1981 he was elected Superior General, but just eight months after his choice, the first signs of leukemia appeared.

In the circular of October 24, 1982, Madre Rosetta concluded her teaching wishing all her daughters to be infected by Don Bosco “with an acute nostalgia of the ‘beautiful paradise'”, to enter the path of holiness “with a will without return.”

“The goal is unique: reaching paradise with all young people for whom we have delivered and consumed existence,” wrote Mother Rosetta. He died on March 8, 1984, in Rome.

Sor Francesca Caggiano, vicepostulator of the cause of beatification, pointed out That “all who met God’s servant, Mother Rosetta Marchese, were convinced that they were before a woman of the Holy Spirit.”
