Next Saturday, June 28, it will be a day of union in Colombia, when countless faithful meet to pray the Holy Rosary and ask the Lord to grant his peace to the country, whose social and political situation goes through difficult times.
This is the initiative One million rosaries, one voicedriven by the priest Daniel Bustamante, of the Archdiocese of Bogotá, and the one that has been added presbyters of different dioceses.

Fr. Bustamante was encouraged to launch the call following the crisis that Colombia is going through, with terrorist attacks in departments such as Cauca and Valle del Cauca, and the attack against the presidential candidate Miguel Uribe Turbay, who remains interned in the intensive care unit of the Santa Fe Foundation.
“As men and women of faith, it is an appropriate time to unite in prayer and ask the Lord to give us peace,” said the priest in conversation with ACI Press.
In a press release sent to ACI Press, it was indicated that “the day will begin with the Holy Eucharist, at 5p.m., a holy hour at 6:00 pm, followed by the prayer of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 pm, in communion with hundreds of parish communities, Marian movements, colleges and families”.
However, the faithful can join from the place where they are, be their homes, work and study centers. The idea is to pray Mariana Prayer for Colombia.
“I know that if we join in faith, if we join in prayer, the Lord will surely give us the gift of peace that this country needs,” said Fr. Bustamante.
The priest recalled that the Virgin Mary “promised Sor Lucia that if a million people prayed the rosary, Portugal would fight from communism, and so it was. Then, what we want is that we pray millions of Colombians at the same time, on Saturday, June 28, feast of the Immaculate Conception.”
In addition, he indicated that the day will be used to consecrate Colombia to the Immaculate Heart and the Sacred Heart.
The priest added that, together with the prayers, it is also necessary that, “if we want to bring peace, we first have to change ourselves, so that the Lord gives us this peace so longed for.”
