With the title Persevering in communionthe Episcopal Conference of Colombia (CEC) presented a guide to deepen the Holy Scriptures throughout September, in which the Church celebrates the month of the Bible.
The guide was prepared by the Catequesis and Biblical Animation Department of the CEC, and “contains four Divine Lectio workshops to be developed personally and communityly,” said the Episcopate.

To do this, the document illuminates the concept of communion based on four biblical passages: with Chapter 3 of Leviticus it reflects on The sacrifice of communion in the old alliance; Then, using Psalm 133, it is meditated on The communion of the brothers as the gift of God.
Subsequently, resorting to Acts 2, 42-47, the Church is presented as A living and vivifier communion; And finally, resorting to the first letter to the Corinthians 10, 14-22, the intrinsic relationship between Communion and Eucharist.
Mons. Pedro Manuel Salamanca, president of the Episcopal Commission of Catechesis and Biblical Animation, explains that the theme of this subsidy “is inscribed in the Synod line on Sinodality, convened by Pope Francis, and is in deep line with the call of Pope Leo XIV to take care of and foster unity, that unity that is only possible in one, that is, in Jesus Christ.”
For its part, in the introduction of the document, Fr. Francisco León Oquendo Gómez, director of the Department of Catechesis and Bible, recalls that “communion is one of the distinctive features of the Church, whose members have perseverance in common in common.”
“Based on the teaching of the apostles, communion lives and expresses itself in the fraction of bread (the Eucharist), is projected and reinforced in prayers,” he says.
Therefore, it encourages the guide to “reach many faithful and the small communities that feed their faith, hope and charity with the word that is necessary for us to remain in Jesus and thus produce abundant fruits.”
The Catholic Church has designated September as the month of the Bible to highlight the figure of San Jerónimo, doctor of the Church and translator of the Bible of the Greek and the Hebrew to Latin, a work known as The vulgate.
The San Jerónimo party is September 30.
