The robbery happened on Monday, September 8 in the parish of the Simón Bolívar neighborhood. The archdiocese reported in a statement that on Wednesday afternoon “the tabernacle with the consecrated species was found in the midst of garbage and debris inside the patio of the parish house.”
Due to the offense committed against Christ, the Archbishop called that in all parishes and other places of cult of Barranquilla they were celebrated during Thursday 11 “prudent acts of relief and atonement, to ask the Lord to ask the conversion of those responsible, offering the prayers, sacrifices and cults of cult as reparation for the offense committed to the real presence of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
In that sense, Mons. Pablo Salas presided on Thursday night the Mass of Disage. This took place outside the Santa Marta parish.
In his Facebook account, the parish reported that the archbishop was “accompanied by our parish priest Archímides González, priests and a community that, with an injured but hopeful heart, met to honor the Lord.”
The act culminated with the procession of the Blessed Sacrament, “with the certainty that Jesus remains in the middle of us and that his love and forgiveness is immense great mind.”
