Clare Crockett: They throw song or all or nothing in Mexico, in honor of God’s servant

Mexican singer Evelin Toledo released the song Or all or nothingin honor of sister Clare Crockett, a religious of Irish origin who died in the earthquake in Ecuador in 2016 and is in the process of beatification.

Speaking to ACI Press, the singer born in Guadalajara says that, she wanted to compose this song with her husband José Miguel Pardo, “because the life testimony of Sister Claire Crockett is filling the life of many people who know her with expectations. They remind me that Jesus calls us to holiness regardless of personal history and the environment in which we have grown up.”

“Also because before the request of Jesus of radicality in following him, fears, insecurities can arrive, the feeling unable to achieve it, but seeing that she could make this come true in her life, it gives me hope that the Lord does not ask me for nothing that she cannot and that she does not leave me alone in it,” says the singer -songwriter who dedicates himself to Catholic music since the age of 18.

Evelin began singing at age three and twelve began with the guitar, which could already compose some songs. He knew of sister Clare in 2018, with the documentary Sister Clare Crockett or all or nothingmade by the postulator of her cause of canonization, sister Kristen Gardner.

I tell her to speak to Jesus of me and for the communion of the saints, I know that she does and accompanies me.”

Evelin Toledo also comments that “music and art in general are tools that can facilitate closer to God. It amazes me how a lyrics, a melody, a harmony together can generate a dialogue with the Lord. Sometimes reflection, praise, gratitude, worship or repenting us. For different moments of our spiritual life, there is a song that can bring us closer to Jesus” ..

Who was Clare Crockett?

The sister. Clare Crockett was a young religious, a member of the mother’s home, who died in the earthquake of April 16, 2016 in Playa Prieta (Ecuador), in which at least 673 people died.

Clare Crockett was born in Derry (Northern Ireland) in 1982. Being a teenager, she caught the attention of television producers. At age 15 she was hired to present a program in the British chain Channel 4, and the 17 caught the attention of Nickelodeon.

In 2000, during a Holy Week retirement, specifically on Good Friday, in Spain and with the Servants of the Mother’s home he had a strong encounter with God. In 2006 he made his first votes.

In November 2024, Sister Kristen told Ewtn News that Sister Clare was very clear that “she had given her life to God and that she asked her everything. And she wanted to give her everything”, which “it was an inspiration for us that we met her.”

The cause of canonization of sister Clare Crockett began on Sunday, January 12, 2025 at the Magistral Cathedral of the Holy Children Justo and Pastor of Alcalá de Henares in Spain.
