The Latin American Conference of Religious (Clar) reflected on the most important challenges of those consecrated in the region, especially the dictatorship in Nicaragua and the drama of mass migration, In a statement on the occasion of the XXIX World Day of consecrated life.

Therefore, he highlighted the daily work that the religious carry out in many border shelters, where they have decided to be “house that widens”, guaranteeing the food to all and receiving “those who feel that the possibilities of a better future faded” .
“They are only two images that show where the religious life of the continent is, just when the calendar gives us one day to make memory, celebrate and thank the gift of our prophetic vocation as sentinels of hope. There we are! ”The statement said.
The presidency of the Clar invited the religious to wonder where their vocation “reaches fullness and meaning” and why their apostolate leads them to be “where life is being threatened.” Answering these questions, the statement continues, the consecrated will have “a more authentic and full experience of their vocation.”

Let’s celebrate and update the desire to live in fidelity to the vocation received, ”concludes the text.
