The Peruvian Episcopal Conference (CEP), through its Episcopal Communication Commission, launched the call to the National Prize for Communication “Cardinal Juan Landázuri Ricketts 2025”, with the aim of recognizing and rewarding the journalistic works that promote evangelization, synodality and values of truth, justice and peace.
The prize, which was delivered uninterrupted since 1978, constitutes a tribute to professionals committed to the construction of a more just, fraternal and supportive society. After the death of Mons. Landázuri in 1997, the prize adopted its name in recognition of its pastoral and communicational legacy.

As reported by the Peruvian Episcopal Conference, the contest is aimed “to journalists, communicators, educators and the general public” who work in the field of communication and education, both in traditional media and on digital platforms. The objective is to encourage a “peace journalism for the construction of a more just and democratic society.”
Productions can be presented in the following modalities: written press, radio or podcast, audiovisual (television, video, youtube) and social networks or web portals. Participants may compete in two categories: catechetical-religious (focused on evangelization) and free theme (related to human values and common good).
The admitted works will be those carried out between May 2024 and May 2025. The deadline for the reception of materials is August 1, and the delivery ceremony will be held on August 21 in the city of Lima.
