Christmas 2024: Ítala and Juanjo launch new Catholic songs in Advent

Ítala Rodríguez and Juanjo Cabrera, or simply Ítala and Juanjo, are a young couple of Catholic singers who have just released some new songs for Christmas, remembering that “our yes can also change history.”

Itala is Peruvian and Juanjo is Paraguayan. They have been married for a year and sing as a duo because “it seemed beautiful to us to serve together as a married couple and we decided to unite the ministry,” although each one already had “a path of faith and work through music, a work of evangelization.” Juanjo explains to EWTN News.

“Today we cannot imagine singing separately. We love this ministry just as we love God and the Catholic Church,” he adds.

About the EP they have released, that is, a group of four songs that are available on YoutubeÍtala comments that “the songs speak more deeply about history, about what was experienced at that time, Advent. So we start with Saint Joseph, we move forward with Mary and the entire process of a pregnancy.”

Juanjo adds that “in the song Saint Joseph, “He tells us in first person what he experienced, the difficulties of accepting God’s will, which is different from our plans.”

The young man then highlights that “a very beautiful phrase is ‘how immense is the Immaculate Heart of that woman who had the Sacred Heart in her womb.’ It is something very profound that invites us to reflect so that our hearts prepare to have the Sacred Heart within us.”

As for the song It was like thatJuanjo highlights that it is a very Christmas theme that “speaks of that historical moment, from the point of view that marks a before and after in the history of humanity. “That was something very simple, very humble.”

The King was born It speaks of Joseph’s yes, of Mary’s yes, of our yes that can change the history of humanity,” he continues.

“We want to continue moving forward, grow, continue, give more songs to the Catholic Church,” concludes Juanjo.

Ítala, for her part, thanked the Lord for the blessing of being married and highlighted that during this time she has been able to see the hand of Jesus acting in her marriage.

”The truth is that God has given grace. Since we got married it has been a very big change for us, within what we do. “God has been blessing us all the time,” highlights the young singer-songwriter.
