China’s Grand Prix, minute by minute

Oscar Piastri took over the classification in the Chinese Grand Prix of Formula 1 and sealed the first pole position of his career. The Australian pilot will seek to give McLaren his second consecutive victory in the season, after the triumph of Lando Norris in Australia.

Piastri was the fastest at the key moment: he closed the Q3 with a time of 1: 30,641, thanks to a great final lap, and left George Russell (Mercedes) without chances, which was second to 82 thousandths. His teammate, Norris, had led the first two batches (Q1 and Q2), but aborted his last attempt in the definition and left him the free path.
