“Sebastián Piñera was faithful to the Sunday Mass, he had an endearing love for the Virgin Mary and a special devotion for Saint Alberto Hurtado,” he described, with a special mention to his uncle, Mons. Bernardino Piñera, in his life of faith.
“Sebastián Piñera served Chile with strength, dedication and conviction. Like every human being, he could have made mistakes, he could have made mistakes, he could have done some things differently, but what is not in doubt is his good faith and right intention,” he expressed.
Finally, the prelate shared a reflection: “It is not necessary to wait for misfortunes like those we have experienced in these weeks to embrace each other, to respect each other, to recognize the good that is in each of us.”
“It is now when we must recognize the value of each human life and say so. Tomorrow is already late. It is now when we have to say more clearly that unity around great values such as mutual respect, sincere dialogue, civic friendship, recognizing the good in others, is the path we have to take,” he concluded.
