Easter is approaching and the Catholic Church in Chile organizes its traditional “Lent of Fraternity” campaign, a solidarity initiative that each year seeks to meet Christ in those most in need.
During the 2022-2024 triennium, the Lent Campaign carries the motto “Chile reaches out to vulnerable families,” and is aimed at families suffering the consequences of the socioeconomic crisis in the country.
In statements collected on the website of the Archdiocese of Santiago, the executive secretary of the campaign, José Tomás Silva, noted: “This is the last year that the Lent campaign supports different groups, such as children and adolescents, women , people with different abilities, migrants, older adults, indigenous peoples among others, who are vulnerable to the social and economic crisis that we are experiencing in the country.”
