Chile: Encuentro, the newspaper of the Archbishopric of Santiago, is back

The Archbishopric of Santiago de Chile announced the return of the newspaper “Encuentro”, created in 2007 at the initiative of Cardinal Fernando Chomali, when he served as Auxiliary Bishop of Santiago.

Today, at the head of the archdiocese, the archbishop decided to resume publication of the newspaper after almost three years of recess, to continue carrying the message of Jesus and transmit “the good news.”

With the mission of sharing the view of the Catholic Church on the issues that concern Santiago de Chile and the world, the first edition of “Encuentro” took to the digital roads this Friday, December 20.

With a renewed format but maintaining the mission it had since 2007, as its name indicates, the newspaper seeks to be a space for dialogue, encounter and hope in this time “of so many disagreements.” they claim from the archdiocese.

Starting in March 2025, the newspaper will be published monthly through the digital platforms and social networks of the Church of Santiago.

“This first issue is the beginning of a new editorial adventure that, by the hand of God and Mary, will bear fruit,” highlights Cardinal Chomali in this first installment.

Among the highlights of this issue are reflections on Jubilee 2025, the recent cardinal creation of Archbishop Chomali, and articles on pastoral care in urban colonies, summer schools. It also contains testimonies and interviews.

The first issue is available through this link.
