The Catholic Church in Mexico joins a day of national prayer for the health of Pope Francis, after the recent health problems facing the Pontiff.
The initiative, promoted by the Mexican Episcopate Conference (CEM), takes place on Wednesday 26, Thursday 27 and Friday, February 28, with the invitation to the faithful to join in personal prayer, participate in the prayer of the rosary, the Holy Mass or the Holy Hour.

“That our prayer is a sign of unity and love!”, The CEM expressed when announcing the day.
From different parts of the country, various parishes and temples have joined the call, including the Basilica of Guadalupe in Mexico City. In the atrium of the sanctuary, near the statue of San Juan Paul II, a space has been arranged for the faithful to light a candle and raise a prayer for the health of Pope Francis.
In addition, the Basilica of Guadalupe joined the Vatican in the prayer of the Holy Rosary for the restoration of the pontiff on Monday, February 24 at 2:00 p.m. (local time), in the temple at the scape Christ, also known as the old Basilica of Guadalupe.
By leading prayer, Mons. Edgar Alan Valtierra López, canon of the Basilica of Guadalupe, said: “The whole Church is praying for its restoration, we are going to ask God that in his mercy that grants him the health he needs.”
