Catholic campaign launched in Spain to not forget God during the holidays

In a new proposal for public expression of faith, the Catholic Association of Propagandists (ACdP) has launched a campaign in Spain under the motto “May the summer of your life not be the winter of your soul.”

The campaign aims to dissuade Catholics from the tendency to reduce religious practice during the holidays and “encourage cultivating friendship with God during the summer, and show the inconsistency of putting the life of prayer and participation in the sacraments on hold.” This period is used for rest.

“Geographical mobility, the heat, family pool or beach plans, the difficulty in finding times at places of worship in tourist areas, the change in routines, the lack of priests in certain beach or mountain regions, or simply laziness… the excuses that motivate the decline in religious practice in summer are multiple,” they argue in a statement.

The campaign is disseminated through the ACdP’s social networks and has a poster that has been distributed in twenty places where Spaniards usually go during their holidays, as well as a hundred coastal parishes.

The poster, with the slogan “Don’t treat God like you wouldn’t treat your friends,” includes a QR code so that anyone can access the campaign video, available on YouTube.

The spot, which lasts a minute and a half, shows how a man refuses to be present at important moments in his friends’ lives with the excuse that he is on vacation and that it will be available in September.
