The Ascoy, a Peruvian musical group, launched a new song dedicated to the future San Carlo Acutis, a teenager who died at age 15 for a fulminating leukemia and said that the Eucharist was his “highway to heaven.”
In an interview with Ewtn News, Luis Enrique Ascoy, the leader of the group made up of him and his children Luis Enrique Jr. and María (Mary Belén) told how inspiration arose to compose the theme “Highway to heaven”.

Recently Luis Enrique has had to take care of his sick father and, sometimes, has been revealed. “One of those nights began to rumble in my heart a letter, a letter that had to do with the highway to heaven, with Carlo Cistis, who has declared myself devotee for a long time.”
The lyrics, he said, later shared it with his children who put music and “came out very fresh, very beautiful, that I hope it is the pleasure of all the young people.”
In a live broadcast on his social networks, Mary said that Carlo Acutis has been in his life “a beautiful discovery.” “When I saw his documentary, his story, it really was like a light of hope regarding young people because of the overwhelming awareness of what is really important at an early age,” he explained.
“With 15 years he was already clear about many things and devived for what really mattered,” he added.

Who is Carlo Acutis?
Carlo Acutis (1991–2006) was an Italian teenager who died with only 15 years, because of a fulminating leukemia. He helped the poor, promoted the Eucharistic Miracles and offered his suffering for the Pope, the Church and the conversion of sinners.
He was beatified on October 10, 2020 in Assisi, where his remains are now resting.
Pope Leo XIV has arranged that Carlo Acutis be declared Santo on September 7, along with Pier Giorgio Frassati, another Italian young man.
