Carlo died at age 15 from a leukemia and was beatified in Assisi in 2020. His canonization is scheduled for April 27, 2025.

The enthronement Mass of the relic – which consists of a lock of Blessed hair – was held in the parish of Santa Magdalena, in the town of Ciudad Eten, in the northern diocese of Chiclayo, where on June 2, 1649 the divine Child manifested himself in a consecrated host during the Eucharist of the eve of the solemnity of Corpus Christi.
