Cardinal Vinko Puljić, Archbishop Emeritus of Sarajevo (Bosnia-Herzegovina) will finally go to the conclave after receiving the medical discharge, after announcing that he would not do so for health reasons in a local newspaper last Monday.
As detailed in A statement Disseminated on Thursday by the Archbishopric of Sarajevo, Cardinal Puljić has received a “positive opinion of his doctor” that allows him to travel to Rome and participate in the general congregations and the conclave in which the next Pope will be chosen.

Upon receiving the enabled medical part, “he will not be able to attend the funeral mass and burial of Pope Francis, but he will go to the eternal city next week and join the Cardinal College.”
The Archdiocese of Sarajevo recalls that Cardinal Puljić is the purpurated voter “older at the Cardinal College” and that he has participated in the election of Benedict XVI (2005) and Pope Francis (2013).
