Cardinal Timothy Dolan, Archbishop of New York (USA) congratulated Sister Mary Bosco Daly, a member of the Sisters of Mercy, who just turned 100 years old and who played a “crucial role” in your life.
“Today happens to be the 100th birthday of Sister Mary Bosco Daly, a Sister of Mercy, who played a crucial role in my life. “I don’t know where I would be without her!” wrote the 74-year-old cardinal, sharing a video on his social networks on January 4.

The cardinal, who has served as Archbishop of New York since 2009, recalled that she and three other nuns from Ireland came to his parish in Missouri, where they taught children. “I was blessed to have Sister Mary Bosco teach me in second, fourth and fifth grade.”
Cardinal Dolan, who worked in Rome as rector of the Pontifical North American College, shared that the nun “taught him wisdom, she taught me knowledge, she taught me to put Jesus first. He taught me to know, love and serve the Lord, he taught me to love the Church, to desire to receive the Lord in Holy Communion and to strive to do my best to live the Commandments and the Beatitudes.”
Finally, the cardinal, who was also Auxiliary Bishop of St. Louis and Archbishop of Milwaukee, said: “Sister Mary Bosco, I don’t know where I would be without you, I love you, I thank God for you, I wish you the best in these 100 years, I apologize for not being with you, but I will never forget you.”
On his X account, Bishop Denis Nulty, Bishop of Kildare and Leighlin (Ireland), shared some photos of the celebration of the nun’s 100th birthday.
