On Friday, February 16, the event “The Catholic Church and Freemasonry” took place in Milan (Italy), a private meeting organized by Freemasons in which some ecclesiastical authorities participated.
Present at this event, held at the headquarters of the Ambrosianum Cultural Foundation, were Cardinal Francesco Coccopalmerio, president emeritus of the Pontifical Council for Legislative Texts; the Archbishop of Milan, Mons. Mario Delpini; and Mons. Francesco Stagliano, president of the Pontifical Academy of Theology.
The meeting, which sought to establish a direct dialogue between Freemasonry and the Catholic Church, also included the participation of Stefano Bisi, grand master of the Italian Grand East, the oldest Masonic entity in Italy.
