The Catholic Church in Bolivia is advancing a digitalization plan so that its dioceses and parishes can improve their administrative management through the tools offered by technology.
This is a project coordinated by the Bolivian Episcopal Conference with the collaboration of Ecclesiared, a specific software for parish management.

The main objective of this digitization process is to be able to implement the software in all the parishes of Bolivia, to adapt the structures to current times, and at the same time optimize administrative processes such as the search and delivery of documents.
The process is guided by Bishop Eugenio Coter, Apostolic Vicar of Pando, who noted: “The adoption of specialized software in our parishes represents a crucial step towards a more efficient Church connected with the faithful in the digital age.”
It is software, explained the Prelate, “it allows us to modernize our administrative processes and gives us the opportunity to offer better service to our communities in the country. Now the faithful will be able to obtain any certificate in their parishes, saving time and costs.”
The Vicariate of Pando will be precisely the pioneer in the implementation of Ecclesiared, together with the Vicariate of Kings. The idea is that it will gradually spread to other Dioceses in the country, such as San Ignacio de Velasco, and the Apostolic Vicariate of Ñuflo de Chávez, until it reaches all of them.
Bishop Coter considered that the initiative, in addition to helping the local Church adapt to digital times, “will also strengthen our mission to care for, protect and preserve the rich heritage of the Church in Bolivia by making important digital copies of our parish archives.” .
“We are committed to making a digital transition that is beneficial for all the faithful and collaborators of our parishes,” he said.
What is Ecclesiared?
Ecclesiared is a software with a presence in more than 25 countries, where it has already contributed to numerous dioceses and thousands of parishes, making it the most important parish and diocesan management software in the world.
As part of the process, training sessions will be carried out, which will begin in the coming weeks and will be led by members of Ecclesiared, with the purpose of training the clergy, employees and lay collaborators of the Church in Bolivia, on the use of the software.
