Catholics, always “in favor of life, family, justice and integral development”
“Catholics will always be in favor of life, family, justice and the integral development of all people. Therefore, when choosing our leaders it is unavoidable to consider their commitment to these fundamental values and to a more just and fraternal society,” they expressed.
Next, the capital bishops reminded the faithful that “the solution to the problems of our society does not depend only on those who govern, but on all citizens. Our task as Christians is to be co-responsible agents of positive change and genuine progress, not only avoiding what is harmful, but also leaving aside apathy or disinterest in public life and, above all, promoting values that dignify people.
“Although we cannot expect perfection in any of the candidates and their proposals, however, as believers we have to critically discern which ones are most in line with the principles of the Gospel, Christian Social Doctrine and the highest human values and which ones represent pernicious ideologies. In this way we will not allow ourselves to be manipulated and we will be able to elect the best rulers,” they said.
