For this reason, they affirm that they value “the efforts to build spaces for dialogue between the State and the armed groups,” and asked that these bear fruit in the affected territories, with “freedoms for citizens, who long to live next to their loved ones with peace, joy, justice and security.”
Likewise, they urge armed groups to accept this call in order to achieve “the de-escalation of the conflict in our regions, facilitate emergency humanitarian care and allow our communities the safe return to their usual places of living and work together with their families.” ”.
After raising their prayers to God to “teach us to see and treat each other as brothers,” the bishops reiterated their “permanent willingness to work in favor of the cause of peace in Colombia.”
