The Bishop of Córdoba (Spain), Bishop Demetrio Fernández, addresses in his last weekly letter on the occasion of the Solemnity of the Epiphany, the opportunity it represents to encounter the Lord, and highlights that the Three Wise Men, who are remembered in This day, “we are taught to seek God despite difficulties.”
The Prelate emphasizes that “the liturgical festivities of Christmas are, therefore, a privileged moment for the encounter with Jesus Christ.” In them “He comes out to meet us, but at the same time he wants us to set out, like the Magi, in search of God, leaving ourselves and what is ours to open ourselves to what is God, who divinizes us and gives us makes children.”
The Solemnity of the Epiphany is also “a missionary festival of announcement and testimony of what we have seen and heard. The return to daily life, when one has lived the mystery, becomes more bearable, because one has found new stimuli to embrace God in one’s own life and to grow in solidarity with one’s brothers.”
