Bishop officiates macro baptism of babies rescued before being victims of abortion

A total of 17 children under one year old who were rescued when their mothers were considering undergoing an abortion, will be baptized this Saturday by the Bishop of Getafe (Spain), Mons. Ginés García Beltrán.

The ceremony, which will take place at 5:30 p.m. (local time) in the San Josemaría Escrivá parish in Alcorcón, will incorporate into the Church these children rescued from abortion centers by the More Future Association and the group of John Paul II Rescuers.

Marta Velarde, president of Más Futuro, explains in a statement I spread the word through the Diocese of Getafe that “every year more children are baptized, although the difficulties also grow, since this year four of the mothers have not been given permission from work to attend the celebration.”

The path to the celebration of Baptism “has been very complicated because each mother has a different problem, but saving babies from abortion makes us deeply happy. Despite the especially difficult moment, we are rescuing many children,” says Velarde.

Among the new Christians, there are the children of a mother who professed another religion and who is now preparing to receive Baptism.

“A child is a blessing from God”

Karen went desperate to the Dator abortion business in Madrid. She was 26 years old, pregnant and her partner did not want to have children. “I was desperate without anyone’s support to have my daughter. “I didn’t know what to do,” he recalls.

There she met several volunteers from Más Futuro: “They approached me and told me that abortion was not the solution and that if I didn’t have anyone’s support they were going to help me,” she explains. And that’s how he left them his phone.

A few days later they got in touch and since then they have helped her with all her needs: “I thank God for having put those wonderful people on my path who have helped me, since my life took a turn for the better.”

“I decided to continue with my pregnancy and have my little girl, who is now two years old and is my greatest joy, my hope, my life and the reason why I continue forward. On Saturday I am going to baptize her and I feel very excited to be able to take this big step with my daughter,” she continues.

From her experience, Karen addresses mothers who are considering abortion when they find themselves without family and social support “not to do it; A child is a blessing that God sends to one. No matter how difficult life gets, you have to face the situation and move forward.”
