Bishop and politicians will talk about what Catholic faith contributes to Spain and Europe

The Bishop Emeritus of Alcalá de Henares, Mons. Juan Antonio Reig Pla and political representatives will star in the meeting “What the Catholic faith contributes to Spain and Europe”That it will be held at the Congress of Deputies of Spain.

The event, organized by the Laical Association Rooted in Christ and societyintends to “recover our Christian roots for public life”, not as a nostalgia exercise, but for considering it “an urgency to face the social, cultural and political challenges of today”, as detailed on its website.

“The Catholic faith is not a vestige of the past, but an engine that has inspired institutions for centuries, generated unity and opening commitment paths in favor of the common good. Recovering that lost space, reuniting, is to bet on a more solid and hopeful future,” they add.

The forum, Free free attendance freewill take place on October 13 in the Clara Campoamor room of the Congress of Deputies, structured in two parts.

In the first, entitled “A faith that builds: the origin of Spain and Europe”, will be starring the civil administrator of the State and main administrator of the European Commission Javier Montero that will address the origins and the cultural project of the European Union and Mons. Reig Pla, who will offer “a vision of the recent evolution of Spain and the relationship between faith and public life, key to understanding the current situation”.

The second part of the event will consist of a round table starring the poet, writer and columnist Enrique García-Máiquez; the promoter of the Rosary of Ferraz, José Andrés Calderón; the former national deputy and councilor of the Vox Municipal Group at the Madrid City Council, Carla Toscano; the national deputy of the Popular Party Miguel Ángel Quintanilla; and José Jarque Sainz, member of the Audiovisual Producer Terra igota.

This gathering of politicians and civil society representatives is oriented “to generate concrete and practical proposals, which can inspire everyone’s work,” according to the organizers.
