The 51 priests of the Prelature of Moyobamba, in the Amazon of Peru, published a letter in which they thanked “in total unanimity” and “without fissures” the message of their bishop, Mons. Rafael Escudero López Brea, regarding the Vatican declaration Begging for confidenceregarding the possibility of blessing same-sex couples and in irregular situations.
“In total unanimity, without fissures, the fifty priests who currently work in the Prelature of Moyobamba accept, subscribe and appreciate the pastoral message of our Prelate Bishop, Monsignor Rafael Escudero López-Brea”, regarding the aforementioned declaration, notes a text posted on website of the Prelature on January 2.
“None of us have ever denied a blessing, moreover, not even sacramental absolution or holy communion to any person who has approached to implore the help of the Church with a minimum of contrition and purpose of amendment, in communion with the uninterrupted teaching of the Holy Church of God,” the letter continues.
