“When going down after the touch accompanying the entry of the image of the Virgin into the SEO, shortly after 10 am, we saw that the sunlight entered through the window of the prison ´Ela,” explains Francesc Llop, president of the Cathedral Campaners.
What happens for about ten minutes is that through one of the windows the sun’s rays enter and align to project on the ground. “This is an effect for which this window was designed in the fourteenth century in tribute to the head of the SEO,” says Llop.

This is possible, explains the bell, “due to the way the sun affects, which makes the light enter the room, through a narrow window, forming in the central area of the soil a light rectangle.”
Thus, every year on the day of the Assumption, the sun’s rays enter the so -called prison room “directly and vertically due to the guidance that was given to be built in the fourteenth century when it was designed by the work masters so that this alignment occurred, as a tribute to the Virgin at the party of the Asunción and also as a tradition in certain constructions of the time”.

It was Pope Pius XII who on November 1, 1950 declared the dogma of the assumption of the Virgin Maria, in body and soul to heaven, after receiving a “divine signal” in the person of a five -year -old boy named Gilles Bouhours.
