Pope Leo XIV encouraged to announce to the world the beauty of God, as did the new canonized San Carlo Acutis, upon receiving this morning the participants of the jubilee pilgrimage of the dioceses of the Umbría region in Italy.
“They come from a beautiful region in many ways: the green heart of Italy, with its lush nature; an art treasure, with its peoples and its traditions; land of saints and holy. Each of its communities could tell a unique story in this regard, evoking well -known names and less known stories,” said the Holy Father this September 13 in the Basilica of San Pedro in the Vatican.

“Seeing them here together makes us think precisely the beauty of the body of Christ in her multicolored harmony. She refers to the landscapes of your lands, in which creation melts with the work of man and art and nature complement each other,” Pope León continued.
The beauty of holiness and the Gospel of Jesus
The Holy Father specified that beauty in that region can be seen, above all, in the “centuries of holiness of those who have been scenario your lands: through them mystics and penitents have passed, poets and theologians, silent anacoretas, women full of faith and value, young enthusiasts, who from time for the time have been transmitted and the same inheritance: the gospel of Jesus”.
Remembering San Carlo Acutis, an Italian teenager who died at age 15 and canonized by Pope León on September 7, the Pontiff said that the “river of goodness” of Umbria “was inspired and strengthened the very young saint who was canonized last Sunday. And this is important, because he reminds us that the treasure we have received continues spreading his aroma. ”

“I invite you to live this way this Eucharist: grateful, united, attentive, amazed and willing to get out of the altar as missionaries of love and peace,” he encouraged.
