With the objective of promoting the care of the artistic and cultural heritage of the Church, and the value of evangelization through art, artistic pastoral and the Institute of theology and catechesis San Juan Bautista, of the Archdiocese of San Juan de Cuyo de Cuyo (Argentina) will offer a course on History of Sacred Art.
It is an educational proposal that has its corresponding resolution of the Ministry, and that had its first edition in 2024, in person.

Due to the high demand, this time it will be offered under virtual modality. Classes begin on March 8 and will be taught until November, on Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. (local time). They will also be available asynchronously for those students who cannot connect at that time.
Class by class, students will be able to deepen the relationship between faith and sacred art, covering their historical evolution from their origins to the present.
The course is especially aimed at artists, catechists, sacristans, priests, religious, members of pastoral and young groups or movements, but is not limited to these recipients but is an open proposal to those who wish to know more about the subject, or not have previous knowledge.
Professionals, priests and prominent artists will be responsible for giving the different subjects of the course, among which are theology and art; Art, liturgy and spirituality; History of sacred art; Initiation to Christian Eastern theology; Art and new evangelization; Conservation and restoration; Byzantine iconography.
They will also learn about sacred textile art; Literary sacred art, digital evangelization; Sacred music; Modern and contemporary sacred architecture; Cultural goods, tourism and church heritage.
The course also includes a production workshop.
