Saint José Gabriel del Rosario Brochero lived in the Traslasierra region, Córdoba (Argentina), between 1840 and 1914.
Known as “the gaucho priest”, he toured the region on mule back to attend to the material and spiritual needs of all its inhabitants, without distinction.
He dedicated his life to the most humble and sought the salvation of souls. For this purpose, he was a great promoter of the spiritual exercises of Saint Ignatius.
In addition, it had an impact on society, managing with the authorities the construction of roads, irrigation ditches, dams and other buildings for the good of the population.
