The prelate of Esquel, Mons. José Slaby, requested any information that helps recover the relic and emphasized that its value is spiritual, not material.

In dialogue with Red 43Mons. Slaby said: “On Saturday, when the cathedral opened a lady realized that the relic of John Paul II had taken. A symbol that arrived in 2015 and is a very painful loss for our community.”

Its importance lies in “What John Paul II means for his weight in the conflict with Chile, and today someone took it, it was looking for material value, but although it shines it is not gold, it is painting,” said the prelate.
