Every year, from 6:00 p.m., the public can enter the venue, where a food and craft fair is held, and some musical and dance numbers prior to the show, in which young people from different parts of the country participate.

The lights create the atmosphere, which, added to the scenery, the natural environment and the music, places the spectators in that first Christmas.

For 90 minutes, the show captivates and moves, seeking to bear witness to the beauty of God. The audience also has the opportunity to interact with the actors, a moment that the little ones especially enjoy.

“Christmas by the Lake” is a project that dates back to 1987, at the initiative of the Argentine Cultural Foundation, through the Servidoras, an Institute of consecrated life of pontifical right, founded in Buenos Aires in 1952 by the Argentine priest and Servant of God Luis María Etcheverry Boneo.

In its first year, the proposal won the Estrella de Mar mention and the Santa Clara de Asís award. Since then, year after year it brings together more than 150 young people from different parts of Argentina in an edifying, formative and comprehensive experience, which offers 10 days of coexistence, teamwork and a climate of reflection and deep spirituality, with the main purpose of Evangelize through beauty.

Organized in different workshops, they prepare the scenery, lights and costumes. In addition, they rehearse for many hours at dawn, and they also focus on spiritual preparation, living in a climate of prayer to be able to “be witnesses of what they have seen and heard,” explained one of the Servers, Marisa Menta.

“The greatest work of art is given within young people, and that is what manages to faithfully transmit the beauty of God,” he said.

Those who attend must pay a contribution bonus (voluntary contribution). It is suggested that the public bring beach chairs, a coat and insect repellent.
