In the letter, the bishops thank the Pope for “everything that the Synod of Synodality has meant to the Church, which now challenges us to transmit it, to make it accessible to our people, and to embody it in concrete gestures of service.”
They also mention the “gift” of the encyclical He loved usrecently published and addressed to the universal Church, “but which has for us an air of our land, an air of family, in addition to the authorship in part of our beloved Diego Fares, which means a true caress to our hearts,” they affirm. , in reference to the Argentine priest who died in 2022, whose unpublished writings inspired much of the papal document.
This caress and tenderness, the bishops admit, “we need to experience to transmit to our people, hard hit by poverty, insecurity, lack of work, uncertainty,” while recognizing that “those simplest, most vulnerable , most forgotten, are true teachers of hope.”
Finally, from the Episcopate they are “always open and eager for your visit to this land of yours that loves and waits for you.”
“We pray for you and ask your blessing for the new Executive Commission and for all of us, the bishops, who, although fragile, want to better serve our Church that is pilgrim in Argentina,” they conclude, with “a hug in Christ and his Mother Most Holy, Our Lady of Luján” who this Friday they will visit in her sanctuary to offer the Eucharist, thank her and ask for her protection.
