The bishopric of Jujuy (Argentina) expressed his willingness to collaborate with justice in the face of the arrest of a priest, and reiterated the rejection of the Catholic Church “towards all kinds of sexual, moral, psychological or conscience violence.”
This is Fr. Atilio Luis Bruno, who was arrested on Friday, April 11, accused of crimes of a sexual nature, according to the local portal We are Jujuy. The investigation was in charge of the Fiscal Unit specialized in family violence, gender and crimes against sexual integrity.

The priest served in the parish Our Lady of Nieva, in the Barrio Ciudad de Nieva de San Salvador de Jujuy, and in recent days he had been replaced in his functions by another presbyter, indicates the same medium.
Informed of detention, Jujuy’s bishopric issued a statement in which he expresses his disposition “to collaborate with justice in everything that is required.”
It also emphasizes the “resounding rejection that manifests in these cases the Church towards all kinds of sexual, moral, psychological or conscientious violence towards the people who are entrusted to us.”
Finally, it expresses its commitment “of accompaniment and closeness to those who have felt violated”, wishing “that justice advances and acts in the rapid clarification of the facts that have been denounced.”
