The Archbishop of Toledo and Primado de España, Mons. Francisco Cerro Chaves, sent a letter to his priests after the arrest of Fr. Carlos Loriente and encouraged them to review their lives, to ask for help if they have any difficulty and remember that “the enemy takes advantage of loneliness” to wrap them.

Given this situation, Mons. Cerro invited to his priests to live “these moments with a spirit of faith, from the truth and with entrails of mercy. That this pain is the opportunity to welcome the call to the conversion that the Lord makes to each one and our diocese.”
“Truly none are free of falling and that is why we have to help us live in holiness, with renewed fervor, our priesthood, having as a center Jesus Christ,” he said and urged: “Let’s review our lives in the light of the Lord.”
After encouraging the faithful to sustain “from the supernatural vision that drives us to prayer, the sacrifice and intercession,” the prelate asked the priests to pray together, also by Fr. Carlos Loriente and his family.
“For the Lord to accompany and sustain him right now and be present in his life from truth and mercy. Let’s not forget to entrust his family,” he concluded.
