In a recent publication aimed at those who focus their trips on gastronomy, the American company Tripadvisor, which operates online travel agencies, price comparison websites and mobile applications with user-generated content, presented the best “25 gastronomic destinations in the world””, among which he included the Argentine province of Mendoza.
The 25 destinations “that They’ll keep you busy (and full)” highlighted the company when presenting the list of places recommended for its good gastronomywithin the framework of the awards “Best of the Best de los Travellers’ Choice Awards”, which celebrate excellence in travel.
Tripadvisor grants this recognition to destinations that receive a large volume of criticism and extraordinary opinionss by your community over the last year. It should be noted that, among 8 million destinations and establishments that are part of their lists, less than 1% achieve this milestone.
The platform highlighted that “Mendoza, best known for its wines, is a bustling city east of Mount Aconcagua, the highest peak in the Western Hemisphere. Although attracts many adventurous travelers for climbing, skiing, hiking and rafting opportunities within walking distance of the city center, the area’s more than 1,000 vineyards attract oenophiles in even greater numbers”.
Tripadvisor also recommends the province as an ideal place to do nature tours and wildlife and outings hikingin addition to wine tastingsof course, and shopping.
Global gastronomic hub
“Being among the best gastronomic destinations on the planet according to a platform as recognized as Tripadvisor has to do with how those who visit us see ussince this selection arises from the reviews made by those who enjoyed our flavors,” highlighted Gabriela Testa, president of the Mendoza Tourism Entity.
And he added: “We have been working hard with the private and academic sectors, in the Gastronomic Origin and Identity Forums, to position Mendoza as a global gastronomic hub. This is how we became the Ibero-American Capital of Gastronomy and Wine, we received seven Michelin Stars and, recently, we were chosen as the best responsible wine tourism destination. This speaks of We are on the good way and that our province has a lot to offer in this regard.”
For his part, Edmundo Day, president of the Mendoza Hotel, Gastronomic and Related Business Association (AEHGA), added that “with this recognition, Mendoza confirms that Gastronomy is one of the decisive reasons why visitors choose to come to our destination. A destination that is consolidated
This new international recognition joins others that Mendoza already received, like the one that granted him the Time magazine in 2021, when he chose the province of Cuyo among the “100 best places in the world“, along with others such as Antarctica, large cities or even neighborhoods.
