The Tonale measures 4.53 meters long, 1.84 m wide and 1.60 m high, measurements that are above models such as Volkswagen Taos, Toyota Corolla Cross and Jeep Compass.
Mechanically, the mild-hybrid variants have a 160 HP 1.5-liter 4-cylinder gasoline engine, associated with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The traction is front.
The propulsion system is complemented by a small 48-volt electric motor that, although it does not have the capacity to drive the wheels itself, assists the combustion engine in many aspects to help reduce fuel consumption.
For its part, the plug-in hybrid version is equipped with a 1.3-liter, turbo, 180 HP engine, and another 122 HP electric engine that is powered by a 15.5 kWh battery and allows autonomy in 100% electric mode of 60 kilometers. Both engines deliver a total power of 280 horsepower.
The transmission is a six-speed automatic (with torque converter), while the drive is all-wheel drive. Likewise, the front and rear suspension scheme is independent throughout the range.
All versions have three driving modes (four in the plug-in hybrid variant), 12.3″ digital instrument panel, 10.2″ central multimedia screen, wireless Android Auto and Apple Car Play, inductive cell phone charger and dual-zone climate control. The wheels are 18″ (Sprint), 19″ (Veloce) and 20″ (Tributo).
